Ready for the assessor before the engagement starts
Assurance tests whether each disclosed figure can be supported. ESGTrack keeps the evidence with the figure, records who approved it, runs standard controls over the data — and gives your provider a workspace to query, test and sign in.

Evidence that stays with the figure
Each figure carries its evidence — bills, logs, registers, certificates — fingerprinted with SHA-256 when it is attached, so a changed file is noticed. One evidence register lists everything across sites, periods and frameworks, and any KPI can be traced to the entries, evidence and approvals behind it.
- An evidence heatmap across the BRSR Core KPIs, by site and month
- Meter photos from the field app become evidence automatically
- Every change, sign-in and approval in a hash-chained activity log you can verify

Controls over ESG reporting
ESGTrack includes 26 standard internal controls over ESG data — from maker-checker on every figure and evidence coverage and the reconciliation of fuel stock, bills and registers — and tests 15 of them itself every day. The rest are recorded with their owners, tests and any deficiencies, as an assurer would expect to see them.
- Separation of duties: nobody approves a figure they entered
- Large year-on-year changes need an explanation before the report is approved
- Validation rules for typed, imported, connected and API figures
- Reporting periods locked once filed; assured figures locked once assured

An assurance workspace, inside ESGTrack
Your provider works in ESGTrack with a read-only role limited to the periods of their engagement. Queries and document requests sit in the same thread as the figure they are about; samples are tested and findings recorded there; and the provider writes and signs their statement in ESGTrack, on written representations management signs there too.
- The engagement records the standard it follows and the period it covers
- A close calendar from year end to the AGM, with the legal deadlines
- A public page where anyone can check a signed statement
- Digital signatures on PDFs checked against India's CCA roots

ICAI announced SSA 5000 in September 2026 — reported to apply to financial years beginning on or after 1 April 2027 and to replace SSAE 3000 (check ICAI's final text); the IAASB's ISSA 5000 applies to periods beginning on or after 15 December 2026. Your provider decides which standard the engagement follows.
Questions about assurance
Does ESGTrack provide assurance?
No. Assurance or assessment is given by an independent provider you appoint. ESGTrack prepares what they test — figures with evidence, approvals and controls — and gives them a workspace to do the engagement in, limited to the periods they were engaged for.
Which standards can an engagement follow?
An engagement records the standard it is performed under: ISAE 3000 (Revised), ISAE 3410, ISSA 5000, SSAE 3000 (ICAI), SSA 5000 (ICAI), Industry Standards Forum, AA1000AS v3, ISO 14064-3, or another standard you name.
What happens to figures after assurance?
They are locked. Reopening an assured figure — for a restatement, say — needs a recorded reason, and the change is written to the activity log.
Can someone outside the company check a signed statement?
Yes. A statement signed in ESGTrack can be checked on a public page, and digitally signed PDFs are checked against India's CCA roots — whether they are intact, who signed, whether the certificate was valid when signed and not revoked, and whether anything changed after signing.
