Supplier data, asked for once and reused

Send suppliers a private link instead of a spreadsheet. They answer with evidence, you accept or return the answers, and accepted figures flow into Scope 3 and your BRSR value-chain disclosures — while suppliers keep one profile for every customer that asks.

What a supplier is asked, and what you get back

A request covers a reporting period and asks for what you need — Scope 1 and 2 emissions, revenue for allocation, the share of renewable electricity, energy, water and waste figures for BRSR, safety incidents, and whether the supplier has the policies BRSR asks about. Each answer can carry evidence.

  • Answers accepted, or returned with a note — nothing enters your figures unreviewed
  • Supplier emissions allocated by economic share into Scope 3, category 1
  • Value-chain coverage: the share of spend with suppliers who answered
  • Automatic reminders when a request is due within three days or overdue — up to three, each with a fresh link

One profile per supplier, used with its permission

Suppliers answering several listed customers can keep one ESG profile in the supplier network, identified by GSTIN or e-mail and confirmed by an e-mailed link. The supplier decides which customers may use it — opening a customer's request counts as consent for that customer — and can approve or withdraw access for others.

  • A request can be filled from the profile; the supplier still reviews and submits it
  • Answers kept per financial year, so last year's figures are not overwritten
  • Suppliers manage access from a page reached by an e-mailed link

BRSR value-chain disclosures

For the top 250 listed entities, SEBI's value-chain disclosures became voluntary from FY 2025-26, covering partners that individually make up 2% or more of purchases or sales, optionally limited to those covering 75% of each; assessment or assurance of them is voluntary from FY 2026-27. ESGTrack picks the partners by that rule, asks them for the building blocks of the BRSR Core attributes, combines their answers correctly and shows the share of purchases and sales covered.

Questions about supplier data

Do suppliers need an ESGTrack account?

No. Each request arrives as a private link. The supplier answers, attaches evidence and submits; you accept the answers or return them with a note. The link is stored only as a fingerprint, never in plain text.

How are a supplier's emissions allocated to us?

By economic share, as the GHG Protocol's Scope 3 guidance describes: the supplier's Scope 1 and 2 emissions multiplied by your spend with them divided by their revenue. The result goes into Scope 3, category 1, as supplier-specific data. It covers the supplier's own Scope 1 and 2: category 1 is meant to be cradle-to-gate, so state how the supplier's upstream emissions are treated.

What is the supplier network?

A supplier — often an MSME answering several listed customers — keeps one ESG profile per financial year, identified by its GSTIN or e-mail. It decides which customers may use the profile and can withdraw that access; a request can be filled from the profile, and the supplier still reviews and submits it.

Which suppliers count for BRSR value-chain disclosures?

Under SEBI's rules as revised in March 2025, the top 250 listed entities may disclose, voluntarily from FY 2025-26, for partners that individually make up 2% or more of purchases or sales — optionally limited to those covering 75% of each. ESGTrack selects partners by that rule from your purchase and sales figures.
